About the Mini-Gamelan

Suhirdjan is a Javanese musician and instrument builder who lives in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. For many years, he has been making and exporting gamelan instruments to countries around the world, including England, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Israel, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.

The price lists at the left are for gamelan instruments in bronze, or in brass/iron, with two choices of carving for the wooden cases. The mini-gamelan prices are also given..

References are from people who have ordered instruments from Suhirdjan in the past.

The mini-gamelan was designed by Elsje Plantema and made by Suhirdjan for use in school programs in Amsterdam There are five sets in use (as of 2012).
